Compass Godalming

Unitarian Hall in Meadrow in Godalming GU7 3JB

Everyone is welcome to join our very first local meeting in South West Surrey to have a warm and open about what we can do as Compass members or supporters and how we will do it.

When: Saturday 18 July, 10am – 12:15pm
Where: Unitarian Hall in Meadrow, Godalming GU7 3JB

We will open at 9.30am with coffee and croissants, and the meeting will be introduced at 10am by Ruth Lister, chair of the Compass Management Committee. Ruth is a Labour peer, Professor of Social Policy at Loughborough University and former Director of the Child Poverty Action Group.

We currently have a fairly loose proposed agenda with the idea that there will be lots of opportunity for discussions and an opportunity at the end to secure a consensus on the next steps.

In the meantime, some questions you might like to think about:

Do you have any suggestions for other people who should be added to the e-mail list? Feel free to invite others who might be interested.
Are there local organisations that you think it would be helpful to invite? In terms of political groups Labour, Greens and LibDems will be coming – which other local groups could be invited?
Are there specific questions that we need to ask people to discuss/ issues to resolve for when we break into groups?
What are the desirable outcomes for the meeting?

And let me know whether you would be willing to help in any way – helping plan the agenda, making coffee, helping with the publicity or anything else.

This is an exciting possibility!
