Sort the System: The Lobby for Equal Votes

Politics isn’t working. Life is getting harder and Westminster is letting it happen.

Our politics is out of touch because Parliament doesn’t fairly reflect how we vote. We need Proportional Representation so everyone has a voice that counts.

On Wednesday 24 May, people from every part of the UK are coming to Westminster to meet their MPs and tell them: it’s time to Sort The System!

To get ready for the lobby on May 24th:

  1. Ask your MP to meet
Ask your MP to meet with you and other constituents on the day of the lobby – and let us know how they respond.
  2. Contact your MP
Put 24 May in your diary, book your travel and arrange to arrive by 12pm at the Emmanuel Centre – our base of operations for the day.
  3. On the day
Join us on 24 May in London to Sort The System! We’ll meet our MPs – and we’ll leave a message for the ones who don’t show up.

Sort The System is a mass lobby of Parliament calling for Proportional Representation for UK general elections.

It is the joint initiative of Compass, Make Votes Matter, Electoral Reform Society, Politics for the Many, Open Britain, Unlock Democracy, and Best for Britain.

Our purpose is to prove the level of public demand there is for change to all politicians and parties.

There’s also a Get Ready to Sort the System event on April 18th. Register at this link for the sort the system event and you will receive an invite to the event on the 18th.
