Compass Calderdale – Democracy, Inequality and Brexit

Saturday, 12 October 2019,
Mytholmroyd Community & Leisure Centre

On Saturday 12th October, Calderdale Compass is hosting a public meeting on Democracy, Inequality and Brexit.

Speakers include:

Alex Sobel MP, Labour

Jane Speller, Compass Coordinator

The main focus of the meeting will be about how our democratic system and neoliberal economic system have played a key role in making the UK one of the most unequal countries in Europe, and led to the crisis we are now in over Brexit.¬†Following on from this we’ll also be discussing the radical reforms needed to transform our democracy. Only a complete overhaul of our democracy, putting it back into the hands of the people, will enable us to create a more equal society and tackle challenges such as urgent action against climate change.

Where: Mytholmroyd Community & Leisure Centre, Caldene Avenue, HX7 5AF

When: 12th October, 14.30 – 17.30
