Compass Calderdale – Democracy, Inequality and Brexit

Mytholmroyd Community & Leisure Centre

On Saturday 12th October, Calderdale Compass is hosting a public meeting on Democracy, Inequality and Brexit.

Speakers include:

Alex Sobel MP, Labour

Jane Speller, Compass Coordinator

The main focus of the meeting will be about how our democratic system and neoliberal economic system have played a key role in making the UK one of the most unequal countries in Europe, and led to the crisis we are now in over Brexit. Following on from this we’ll also be discussing the radical reforms needed to transform our democracy. Only a complete overhaul of our democracy, putting it back into the hands of the people, will enable us to create a more equal society and tackle challenges such as urgent action against climate change.

Where: Mytholmroyd Community & Leisure Centre, Caldene Avenue, HX7 5AF

When: 12th October, 14.30 – 17.30
