How to share your story

story

Your story matters. Telling your story is the art of translating values into action so that individuals, communities, and movements construct their identity, make choices, and inspire action.

We want to hear your story and what’s happening in your local area so that Compass activists can feel connected and be inspired about the great action going on in our society.

Here is how to share your story

  1. Write your story! It can be anywhere from 3 sentences to several paragraphs

  2. Email me your name, where you are from and a bit about yourself and why you fight for a good society or what things inspire you to carry on doing what you are passionate about. It can be your life experiences, inspiration, campaigns, local news, anything! You can add a picture too if you want!

3. Email your story to rosie@compassonline.flywheelsites.com

To get thinking, have a look at some of the stories from Compass people here to get you started or see Avaaz’s site here.

  1. My story is simple disabled after an accident dumped by Labour party who asked me to leave after the BBC and Labour asked me to do a BBC program about people who were able to work, labour actually asked me to come off benefits to prove it can be done, when I said nope sorry, they decided I should leave, not a problem I left, they then wrote to me asking for my reason of leaving.

Why am I now politically active I’m not anymore I’ve given up totally after listening to Wallace and Gromit speaking about welfare.

Nothing in the Labour party anymore, not a lot in the Tories but I know what they are like.

    I’ve totally given up

  2. I recall wondering why everybody reckoned the black bloke had a chip on his shoulder
I got to know the black bloke and discovered his thwarted ambitions due to skin colour
    picket lines,demos,benefit gigs,betrayal.
    wapping,orgreave,privatisation,privation,big society.
Aghast at the audacity of austerity politics
I campaign and persuade as a way of life
