West London Compass and Make Votes Matter are organising an Alliance Building Event in Richmond on 14 March. Speakers include Jonathan Bartley, co-leader of the Green Party, Vince Cable, ex MP for Twickenham , an unconfirmed Labour speaker and non-party speakers including Klina Jordan from Make Votes Matter, Frances Foley from Compass and Peter Macfadyen, Independent from Frome and author of Flat Pack Democracy.
The five seats in our area that stand out in particular that could benefit from alliances are Twickenham, Richmond Park, Brentford & Isleworth, Kingston & Surbiton and Ealing Central & Acton.
We will be exploring the possibilities for establishing Progressive Alliances in those key seats to enhance the chances for the election progressive candidates against the Conservatives as we see this as the only chance of preventing a clear win for the Government in any foreseeable election.
Any potential arrangements would involve discussions around broad policies and possible arrangements on local Council seats.
The event will be a mix of talks and group discussions on themes laid out by the speakers and will be chaired by Frances Foley from Compass.
The event is free to attend but please register for tickets here!
