This thinkpiece explores the impact of New labours ‘welfare to work’ policy on lone parents. It is argued that New Labours idea that this group of people take alot from the state, while giving little back, is void. It is also stated that Lone parents and their families may be harmed by forcing them in to ‘any old work’.
