Radical Approaches to Education Conference - Further Reflections

Tuesday, December 18 2012

A great summary of the conference is now available at the 3D Eye blog, part one is here and part two is here. You can download a copy of the opening addresses from Compass Chair Neal Lawson here and Dr Mary Bousted (ATL) here. The final address from Prof. Ken Spours (Compass Education Convenor) is also available to download here.

The following reports from various workshops are also available to download, just click the title:

The Compass Education Organising Group (CEOG) will meet early in the New Year to agree task groups to follow up the conference and to help build the Compass education strategy. In support of a new democratic comprehensive vision, it is likely that there will be groups in a number of areas including learning, the curriculum and qualifications; the local organisation of education and training; further, higher education and skills; and education professionalism.  We will also be working towards a Commission for Education that can bring together an alliance for progressive education change.

Just click here and email Ken Spours to get involved with CEOG.

Finally, an upcoming date for your diary – 5.30pm Wednesday 13 February in the Clarke Hall at the Institute of Education – Compass will be organising the first showing of Rhonda Evans's new film on 'forced acadamisation'.  There will also be guest speakers.
