Compass AGM 2013- save the date!

Tuesday, November 20 2012

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our Annual General Meeting on February 2nd 2013 in London. This is a big opportunity for Compass members to steer the future of the organisation as well as direct and hold to account the Management Committee and staff.

This year the AGM will be themed around an exciting new project which we’ll be launching in the new year.  We will try and do things a bit differently with participatory sessions and seminars so Compass members can deliberate, debate and importantly, decide the focus of our activities. Compass is led by our members, so it is really important that you input into the future of Compass if you can.

This year we have chosen Toynbee Hall as the venue. Toynbee Hall has a long-standing history of community development, empowerment and had residents such as Clement Attlee and William Beveridge so this is the perfect venue for Compass!

We know that having the event in London means it is not easy for everyone to get to, but we have tried to give you as much notice as possible. There have been 12 Compass events and meetings outside of London in the last 3 months thanks to our wonderful Compass local groups and we are trying to have more of a presence outside of London. For those of you who can’t come we will be live tweeting on the day and making audio recordings of the important conversations and decisions. No one will be excluded from the democratic process - if you cannot attend on the day then you can vote by post or email.

Rosie will be sending members information next week about how to reserve your place, the timetable and information about how to get involved in the democratic process - but for now please save the date!

If you are not a Compass member yet- you can join for as little as £1 a month by clicking here.

Please do email Rosie if you have any questions.
