At the last election, the Tories took all the seats in Cornwall, despite some very close races. In West Cornwall, both the Lib Dems and Labour ran the Tories to the line; the Lib Dems lost out by some 200 votes.
Cornwall and Britain need the politics of hope. Progressive Alliance for Cornwall aims to facilitate conversations between people of all parties and none. For a progressive government of any colour to succeed, individuals and groups must start working together at the local level, to find areas of commonality and shared values. The future of progressive politics will be built on solidarity, mutuality and trust – and it starts in our communities.
Join us for an evening of exploring, debating and planning the possibilities of progressive co-operation. We come together, in a spirit of collaboration, to find those common causes.
The event is free to attend and open to all.
Speakers will include:
David Levine (chair)
Mike Tresidder (Mebyon Kernow)
Emma Bray (Women’s Equality Party)
Ian Flindell (Green Party)
Andrew George (Liberal Democrats)
Labour party (tbc)
The panelists will represent their own views and will not speak on behalf on their parties, and there will be lots of time for participation and debate.
