Birmingham: Community Organising: from words to action!

Impact Hub Birmingham 58 Oxford Street B5 5NY Birmingham

How often do you sit in a meeting thinking ‘we need to stop talking and start doing things’ – come along to this event and find out how! What does community politics mean? What’s the best approach to community organising? What community campaign or activity would you like to develop? Share experience and ideas, hear what others have done and get planning…

The event will be led by Becca Kirkpatrick, community organiser, trade unionist – and optimist!

Please make sure to book your place here, places are limited.

To help with costs this is a pay what you can event. If what you can contribute is your time and commitment but not money that is great and don’t hesitate to book a free ticket. But if you are able to help with costs that’s good too. The suggested donation is £5 but if what you can pay is less – or more! – it all really helps.

We’re absolutely delighted to say we’re going to be working in partnership with the fantastic Impact Hub Birmingham which will be the base for all our events in coming months. The Impact Hub is an absolutely great venture – check it out.

This is a West Midlands Politics of Networks event. These events are providing space and opportunity for people to:

  • come together on the basis of shared values and concerns, reaching out beyond narrow political and organisational labels;
  • engage in ideas and Big Politics;
  • participate in and develop active campaigning;
  • do politics differently with emphasis on focusing on what we can agree on; and
  • be curious about different views while acting with care, compassion and respect for all.

 West Midlands Politics of Networks events are organised by Compass and Equality West Midlands. It is for those who get involved to shape development.
