Cambridge Event: Are we living in New Times and what does it mean for the left?

Peterhouse Porters' Lodge

In an age of free falling party membership where people increasingly express themselves politically through new social media, online campaign groups and grassroots organisation, it appears we are on the verge of a major rupture in our political system- or as we are calling it ‘new times’. These new times have the potential to create a far more democratic, horizontal and grassroots style of politics and we’d love to chat about it with you.

To what extent are we now living in ‘new times’?  What will happen to traditional political parties as a result? And what are the implications for the left-wing in all this?

This event will be looking at these questions and more, promising to be an interesting and lively discussion:

Where: Peterhouse Parlour, Trumpington Street, Cambridge- Map

When: Tuesday February 18th

Time: 20.30

Speakers: Neal Lawson, Chair Compass
