Just over a week ago we were at the lively Annual Gathering tackling the big political and strategic questions. A full write up of the day is coming shortly, in the meantime here are the headlines.

– We dived in with an overview of what Compass has been up to over the last two years. You can see everything we mentioned and much more in the annual review.

– Indra Adnan, Neal Lawson and Jacqui Howard in a fishbowl
Indra, Neal and Jacqui opened a conversation on the political context; many more joined them. You can hear the discussion and share it with your friends.

– What does it mean in practice #1?

Small groups discussed Compass’ strategy document, the 6 principles, and how we put them into practice. A revised version of the strategy based on the comments sent by email and shared on the day will be sent out in the next few weeks, as well as a write up of the group conversations.

 – John McDonnell MP, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer in conversation with Sue Goss, Open Tribes author.

John McDonnell shared his thoughts candidly on issues ranging from the economy to Europe and working with other progressives.

 – What does it mean in practice #2
Unfortunately with John McDonnell very delayed (forgetting both glasses and phone in Nottingham) the second set of group discussions were cut short. We will follow up with a write up of the topics and provide an online space for the conversations.

 – AGM for members
Members questioned the Management Committee and staff on the financial accounts, activity outside of London, support for local groups and which issues Compass is working on.
