I was born in Liverpool, brought up in small town called Neilston in Scotland (where I have not lived for 8 years but still call ‘home’) and am a committed socialist. After graduating in 2010 I moved to London and, after a year or so of working in bars, got a job with a national charity. I now balance two part-time jobs: one for an MP and one for a think tank dedicated to tackling income inequality.
While I recognise that I am incredibly lucky to have had an education and never faced serious unemployment or under-employment, I have had real first-hand experience of the devastating inequality in the UK and Europe and…well…it makes me pretty angry. In my professional and personal life I strive to tackle these inequalities and would love to play a part in changing things for the better.
